1. Purpose
This document provides step-by-step instructions for setting up a Zebra ZT411 thermal transfer printer for use with Infinitum I-con software to print OEM sub-labels. It covers hardware requirements, printer calibration, driver installation, configuration via Zebra Setup Utilities, and optional Ethernet printing configuration.
2. Hardware and Software Requirements
The following items are required before proceeding:

3. Install I-con Software
- Run ICon_Installer_v2.100.912.0_Customer.msi
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions. Upon completion, MotorControl.Engineer.exe will be installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Infinitum-Icon
4. Calibrate the Zebra ZT411 Printer
Calibrate the printer before configuring software settings. Perform the following steps on the printer itself:
- Press and hold Pause and Cancel simultaneously — the Pause light will flash to confirm calibration mode is active
- Adjust the media sensor to align with the label gap
- Navigate through the printer menu and configure the following settings:
- Print Mode: Thermal Transfer
- Media Type: Gap/Notch
- Print Width: 2 inches (203 dpi → dot width 406, tear-off)
- Press Feed to advance a label and verify calibration is correct
5. Install Zebra Windows Printer Driver
- Download the Zebra Windows Printer Driver V10 from the Zebra support website
- Run zddriver-v1062628275-certified.exe and follow the on-screen instructions
- When prompted for port selection, choose the USB port
- Click Finish when installation is complete
6. Install and Configure Zebra Setup Utilities
6.1 Installation
- Download Zebra Setup Utilities from the Zebra support website
- Run zsu-1191327.exe and follow the on-screen instructions for the ZT411
6.2 Configure Printer Settings
Important: Ensure the ZT411 is powered on and connected via USB before opening Zebra Setup Utilities.
- Open Zebra Setup Utilities
- Select ZDesigner ZT411 from the printer list, then select Configure Printer Settings
- Set Width to 2.00” and Height to 1.00”, then click Next
- Set Print Speed to 2.0 in/s and Darkness to 24–28 (adjust based on print quality for your specific unit)
- Click Finish, then close Zebra Setup Utilities. The printer is now configured for USB printing.
7. Ethernet (Network) Printing Setup
Note: This section is only required for Ethernet printing. For USB-only printing, skip to Section 8. Sections 5 and 6 must be completed first.
7.1 Connect and Assign Printer IP Address
- Connect the ZT411 to the network router via an Ethernet cable and verify the network indicator light on the printer is green
- On the laptop, navigate to Ethernet Settings → select the Unidentified Network (connected printer) → Edit IP Settings
- Select Manual, set IP Address to 192.168.1.51 and Subnet Mask to 255.255.0.0, then click Save
7.2 Add Printer via IP Address
- Navigate to Printers and Scanners → Add a device → Add Manually
- Select Add a Printer using an IP address or hostname, then click Next
- Set Device Type to TCP/IP Device, Hostname/IP to 192.168.1.50, Port Name to 9100, then click Next
- Select Custom, then click Next
- Select ZDesigner → ZDesigner ZT411-600dpi ZPL, then click Next
- Select Use the driver that is currently installed (installed in Section 5), then click Next
- Enter printer name: ZDesigner ZT411-600dpi ZPL Ethernet → select Do not share this printer
- Select Print a Test Page, verify the printer produces output, then click Finish
7.3 Configure Ethernet Printer Preferences
- Go to Printers and Scanners → select ZDesigner ZT411-600dpi ZPL Ethernet → Printer Preferences
- Go to Page Setup → set Width to 2” and Height to 1”
- Under Print Options, set Speed to 2.0 in/s and Darkness to 24–26
- Under Graphic Options → Image Transfer Mode, select Direct Print
Click Apply, then OK to exit Printer Preferences
8. Printing Labels from I-con
8.1 USB Printing
- Open I-con v2.100.912.0 or later
- Validate a duty point, enter a serial number, and generate a label
- Select USB as the connection method, print the label, and verify the output is correct
8.2 Ethernet Printing
- Open I-con v2.100.912.0 or later
- Validate a duty point, enter a serial number, and generate a label
- Select Ethernet and enter Printer IP 192.168.1.50
- I-con will automatically connect if the printer is reachable. Once connected, print a label and verify the output is correct
