PN 26-07 Aircore EC+ Fan Changes

Aircore EC+ Fan: Structural and Documentation Updates

Summary

Infinitum has enhanced the Aircore EC+ Fan with design improvements that simplify installation, increase structural rigidity, expand mounting options, and make differential pressure sensing standard across the product line. Packaging has also been updated based on customer feedback, and product branding reflects the Aircore EC+ platform.

Beginning with shipments manufactured in May 2026, all fans include these updates.

Customers should reference the latest STEP files and IOM Manual when designing, specifying, or installing Aircore EC+ Fans to ensure they are working from current product documentation. Ordering information remains unchanged.

Key Updates

Update Description

Construction changes

These construction enhancements improve structural rigidity, provide greater installation flexibility, and simplify commissioning with standard differential-pressure sensing.

  1. Huck bolts replace standard bolts on the 710mm (EF71xx) and 630mm (EF63xx) support arms with a diagonal bolt pattern to improve stiffness.

  2. V-brace width increased from 2.0" to 3.5" across all models. Fan straps include a 2” access hole to facilitate cabling for test equipment or to access motor mounting pads.

  3. 3/8" front mounting holes are now standard, factory-plugged, and field removable. The ‘G’ dimension for the mounting holes has also changed from earlier versions.

  4. Piezo taps are standard on the front and inlet cone throat for differential pressure sensing.

Crate changes

The crate design has been revised based on customer feedback. Review the current IOM Manual before receiving, handling, uncrating, or installing the fan.

Brand changes “Aircore EC+ Fan” replaces “EC Fan Systems” to align with the Aircore EC+ branding portfolio. See Product Notice# 26-06.

Required Customer Action

  • Download the current Aircore EC+ Fan STEP files before completing a new design or revising an existing design.
  • Use the current Aircore EC+ Fan IOM Manual for mounting, handling, uncrating, installation, and sensing information.
  • Replace older files in local libraries, shared drives, templates, and supplier packages to reduce the risk of designing from superseded geometry.
  • Contact Infinitum Support if you need help identifying the version of a shipped fan or determining whether field-installed piezo taps are appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer
Q1. Did the front mounting hole pattern change in the latest design? Yes. The existing customer mounting-hole pattern has changed from earlier versions. The new 3/8-inch front mounting holes add a front-mount option; side mounting remains available.
Q2. Did the material specifications change in the latest design? No. The frame remains galvanized steel and the wheels remain aluminum. Some earlier documentation incorrectly described the frame as powder coated.
Q3. When was the latest design change implemented at the factory? The new design was progressively implemented starting in March and completed for all frames in May 2026.
Q4. How can customers determine whether they received the previous design or the latest design? Depending on the SKU, shipments between March and May 2026 may be the previous version. If awaiting shipment, reference the documentation links in this notice to confirm the most current specifications are in use.
Q5. Is it possible to install piezo taps in the field? Yes. Field installation of piezo taps is supported. Contact Infinitum at support@goInfinitum.com to request step-by-step installation instructions.
